I couldn't make myself go back to sleep no matter whatever I did.

It's hard to lose someone who knew you when you were young;
when they're gone they take your past with them.

When summer's gone on too long, and you feel hot and tired and selfish,

August came in poor and hungry, anxious, right through my stomach,
and storming every night like a nervous wreck.
